I would like to refer you
This is Make a Referral Week, an effort by John Jantsch (Duct Tape Marketing) and others to stimulate the small business economy one referral at a time. The goal for the week is to generate 1000 referred leads to 1000 deserving small businesses in an effort to highlight the impact of a simple action that could blossom into millions of dollars in new business. Small business is the lifeblood and job-creating engine of the economy and merits the positive attention so often saved for corporate bailout stories.
Action steps:
I will look forward to referring you!
Does your website sound like you?
The thing about branding your company is having the courage to write to your readers the same way you might talk to them. Stick with me here, because I think finding your voice is one of the most rewarding breakthroughs of all businesshood.
So here's my challenge. Imagine you are having lunch with a friend and telling her (him) about your company, especially your latest offers and happenings. Can you hear the conversation in your head?
Now, carve out 15 minutes in the next week or so to visit your website and read through every page. Does it sound like the conversation you had with your friend at lunch?
No?
Here are some questions to help you take action.
- What change to your content would make the most difference?
- What do you need in order to make the change?
- What is in it for you?
- Who can you ask for help?
You can do this! I'm in your corner and behind you all the way :)
